What sources does Copilot use to generate answers?
Copilot draws on Vesper's full intelligence layer: the Vesper Price Index (VPI), spot prices, supply and demand fundamentals, import and export trade flows, AI forecasts, and published analyst reports. Every answer references only data that has been verified by Vesper. When Copilot cites a source, you can click it to view the underlying data directly in the platform.
Is my data safe when I use Commodity Copilot?
Yes. Vesper uses enterprise-grade encryption for all data in transit and at rest. Your questions and your company's data are never used to train shared models or exposed to other users. Copilot runs within Vesper's secure, siloed environment.
How is Commodity Copilot different from a general AI tool like ChatGPT?
General AI tools are trained on public text and generate plausible-sounding answers. They cannot access live commodity prices, verified trade data, or proprietary analyst reports. Copilot is grounded in Vesper's real-time database. Every answer is traceable to a specific data source. It does not guess. If Vesper does not have the data to answer a question confidently, Copilot says so.
Can Copilot use my own purchase prices in its answers?
Yes. If you have uploaded your purchase prices using Bring Your Own Data, Copilot can incorporate them into its analysis. You can ask questions like how my Q2 palm oil prices compared to the VPI benchmark, and Copilot will pull both your data and the independent market data to give you a direct answer.
Which commodity categories does Copilot cover?
Copilot covers all categories available in Vesper: dairy, oils and fats, grains and feed, sugar, cocoa, nuts, food ingredients, and more. The depth of analysis varies by category depending on available data. For core commodities with full VPI coverage, Copilot can discuss price trends, supply fundamentals, trade flows, seasonal patterns, and forward market signals.
