Vesper is opening its first U.S. office in Chicago!

We have been serving our global customer base from our headquarters in Amsterdam. We have built and scaled a global customer base from our headquarters in Amsterdam. As the United States has become one of our most important markets, now is the time to establish a local presence to accelerate our expansion. and now is the time to establish a presence in one of our most important regions. 

This role is part of that foundation.

You will join our sales leader, who leads the Mid-Market Sales Team, and has been with Vesper since the beginning. Our Mid-Market Sales function is built locally in Amsterdam, with leadership relocating to Chicago to form and scale a new team. As the first Sales Development Representative, you will play a key role in Vesper’s success in the United States. It’s the perfect opportunity to be an entrepreneur within an already successful global company! It’s a perfect opportunity to build from the ground up within an already successful global company.

The timing couldn’t be better. For years, FMCG companies have been constrained by limited choice among legacy market intelligence solutions. Now, they are switching to Vesper faster each quarter. 

We have all the tools, a healthy and happy U.S. customer base, and we will train you to succeed in this role and wherever you grow within Vesper. We have the product, infrastructure, and a happy, growing U.S. customer base in place. Plus, you’ll get to visit the beautiful canals in Amsterdam from time-to-time to meet your other colleagues in person.

What you will be doing

  • Build pipeline for the U.S. sales team to convert into happy Vesper customers 
  • Execute hyper-personalized outbound motions including email, LinkedIn and cold calling to initiate high-value conversations with senior procurement leaders (cold calling is part of the job and a highly effective channel in our industry)
  • Shape the outbound strategy to fit the U.S. market well, building on Vesper’s successful outbound motion in other markets Manage inbound leads that come through marketing channels from interested buyersAttend events and conferences across the country to stay close to the market and meet your prospects face-to-face  
  • Maintain and execute a book of business to ensure disciplined prioritization, pipeline health, and account coverage
  • Own your targets end-to-end, with the autonomy and accountability to choose the most effective path to success. You’ll be measured on sales-qualified leads (SQLs)
  • Master Vesper’s platform, market insights, and value proposition to run credible, insight-driven conversations with prospects

 What you will bring

  • 1+ years of experience succeeding in a SaaS sales environment as an SDR or equivalent role in B2B sales 
  • Experience with a sales qualification framework and CRM is helpful (we use HubSpot)
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Any other language is welcome
  • Good analytical, negotiating and social skills
  • Confident and eager to learn and develop yourself 
  • Keen interest in the scale-up ecosystem, or experience working at a startup/scale-up
  • The role can be a Senior SDR for candidates with the right experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work on-site in Chicago, IL (we do not offer relocation assistance)

Compensation & benefits

  • Base salary range: $50,000 – $65,000 USD (depending on experience)
  • Variable compensation: Performance-based commission
  • Benefits: health insurance; paid time off; and additional benefits in line with local market standards
