The global oilseed market is experiencing notable shifts on production forecasts.

Brazil’s Soybean Output Revised Upwards

Brazil’s CONAB, has increased its soybean production forecast to 166.21 million metric tons (mmt) for Brazil, a slight rise from the previous estimate of 166.14 mmt. This adjustment reflects favorable weather conditions supporting crop development.

In a separate development, the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) has projected a record-breaking soybean production of 168.7 mmt for 2025. This marks a remarkable 10% year-on-year growth and surpasses Abiove’s earlier estimate of 167.7 mmt released in November.

Malaysian Palm Oil Stocks Look Skinny

In Malaysia, heavy flooding in key oil palm-growing regions is creating significant production challenges. CIMB projects that December palm oil stocks could fall by another 7%, reaching just 1.7 mmt. This figure represents a stark drop from last year’s December stocks of 2.3 mmt. Adverse weather conditions continue to test the resilience of the palm oil supply chain.
