Florida company Big Olaf Creamery, based in Sarasota, has rejected findings by the Center for Disease Control that they are the source of a listeria outbreak that has affected 23 people since January and killed one. According to the CDC investigation: “Of the 17 people interviewed, 14 people reported eating ice cream. Among 13 people who remembered details about the type of ice cream they ate, six reported eating Big Olaf Creamery brand ice cream or eating ice cream at locations that might have been supplied by Big Olaf Creamery.” Big Olaf dismissed this as “speculation”, saying the investigation is ongoing.
