The average price index at today’s GDT auction was down 4.6% to its lowest level since January 2021. All category indices were down and, apart from butter, showed sharper falls in average price than last time. The WMP index was down 4.4% with an average price of US$3,421/t and SMP was down 6.9% at $3,250/t. AMF was down 2.7% at $5,661/t, Cheddar was down 3.9% at $4,769/t and butter was down 2.6% at $4,851/t. The lactose index was not disclosed; the average lactose price was quoted at $1,310/t. BMP was not offered. A total 29,402t of product was sold, down 4.7% from last time.
