Despite China’s efforts, year-on-year milk production growth is currently experiencing a stagnation phase. In 2023, the year-to-date year-on-year increase stood at 3.22%, with production reaching 33,640,000 metric tons as of November.
Several factors contribute to this slowdown, including lower milk prices, global inflation, higher unemployment rates, and a 0.2% decrease in the Chinese population in 2023.
