China’s February dairy imports were up 2.4% to 258,900t. Total imports for the first 2 months of the year were down 3% at 736,100t.
WMP imports stayed strong in February, up 40% from last year and up 24% in the year to date, but still 13% down on Feb 2020. February’s whey imports were down 39%, and down 13% from 2020, as demand began to stabilise after 3yrs of high volumes.
Cheese has showed the only consistent growth, apart from milk/cream, over the past 2yrs, and February volumes were double those of 2 years ago. IMF imports levelled out, after months of year-on-year decline.
