What we expect from this role

As the People & Talent Acquisition Manager, you will play a key role in expanding the overall Vesper team, and strengthening a People function that makes everyone proud to work at Vesper. In this role, you will oversee a team of 3 FTEs, balancing both strategic leadership and hands-on operational management. You will be responsible for recruiting new talent, supporting our managers in scaling their teams and developing top talent.

What you will be doing

  • Operational excellence:
    • Oversee the flawless execution of People operational topics
    • Ensure that the People function delivers high-quality work across its functions, including employee engagement, performance culture and retention
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Own our recruitment pipeline; work with management to attract and recruit talent for the various teams
    • Work with Marketing for strong employer branding
  • Team Leadership 
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate your team to achieve People goals 
    • Build and maintain a high performing team(s) through effective hiring, growth, and offboarding practices
    • Ensure a positive team culture
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, feedback, and updates
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Be a partner and advisor to broader management on all People related topics
    • Resolve (inter)departmental conflicts and promote a collaborative working environment
    • Address concerns and feedback proactively, escalate to and collaborate with the MD and C-level to solve major concerns
  • Strategic Excellence 
    • Own the People goals 
    • Set and implement the People strategy, covering all aspects of the function (including, e.g., compensation and benefits, learning and development, engagement) and ensure People targets are aligned with Vesper’s overall goals
  • Office Management
    • Guide the Office Manager and contribute to office related topics (e.g., lunch, onboarding, fun events)

What you will bring 

  • People Functional Expertise
    • Knowledge of most People processes and practices
    • Practical, ‘hands-on’ approach in getting critical practices in place, with a preference for results over format
    • Ability to work with our teams to implement and adhere to practices
  • Vision & Strategy
    • Ability to develop a clear short- to mid-term operational and tactical focus and plan to get there
    • Ability to set short-term goals in the context of long-term company objectives and strategies
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Ability to be a trustworthy partner and ‘steward’ for all team members to which they can turn with sensitive topics
    • Ability to collaborate with senior (C-level) management and be a strong People Business Partner
    • Ability to collaborate with other managers to address (inter-)team challenges and interdependencies 
    • Ability to effectively engage in cross-functional projects
