Vesper breaks down barriers and inefficiencies in global food trade. This makes it faster, easier, and more cost-effective to access agricultural commodities. Our business intelligence solution is already used by global companies such as Nestlé, Danone and Unilever. Building on this foundation, we are developing a B2B marketplace to realise our mission while generating data & insights for our intelligence solution.
Your mission as our Product Manager is to pioneer this next product at Vesper. You have a unique opportunity to bring the MVP built earlier this year to become the industry standard for agricultural commodity trading. Are you up for the challenge?
What you will be doing
- Shape the marketplace product vision/strategy, keeping the product in line with the broader company product vision and strategy. Define relevant product metrics and actively steer development
- Conduct effective customer and product discovery by interacting with customers in all settings and across seniority levels and applying product discovery techniques to tackle value/usability/feasibility/business viability risks
- Manage product backlog by translating the long term vision into its constituents parts, understanding and managing dependencies
- Oversee product delivery lead and process (planning, delivery, QA, release) in collaboration with the tech lead, applying industry best practices
- Act as a primary liaison for all stakeholders, collaborating effectively with developers, senior management and other teams. You reach out pro-actively to other teams, manage other team needs effectively and consistently, spot opportunities to improve collaboration with other teams, involve management at the right moment and can push back where needed
What you will bring
- 4-7 years experience as Product Manager in a B2B environment (marketplace experience is a plus)
- Bachelor or Master degree
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Problem solving and analytical skills – Break down large, complex issues into clear and workable steps. Be able to research and apply quantitative and qualitative insights
- Stakeholder management skills – Love to say “yes”, but definitely know when to say “no”. You keep everyone in the loop and can create a shared understanding across the team
- Communication skills – Be a solid communicator, ask the right questions, know when to listen, and can transmit an idea to others
- Time management and prioritisation skills – Balance your and team’s time between discovery/delivery and urgent/important topics
- Knowledge application – Apply knowledge across various domains, show proficiency in using analytical tools, demonstrate solid business acumen, have decent understanding of product development architecture, design, innovation and quality
- Coaching skills – Helps others grow whilst managing your responsibilities and staying open for help
- Initiative – Have strong self-motivation and willingness to learn
