What we expect from this role

Your mission as our Product Manager is to pioneer the next product at Vesper – our B2B marketplace dedicated to agricultural commodity trading. We challenge you to immerse yourself in the complexities of agricultural commodities, ensuring our platform becomes the industry standard for commodity trading. By leading the development of this marketplace, you bring us one step closer to realizing our mission: connecting agricultural commodity players through independent intelligence to create smarter trade. 

What you will be doing

  • Shape the marketplace product vision/strategy, keeping the product in line with the broader company product vision and strategy. Define relevant product metrics and actively steer development
  • Conduct effective customer and product discovery by interacting with customers in all settings and across seniority levels (incl. CXO level) and applying product discovery techniques to tackle value/usability/feasibility/business viability risks
  • Manage product backlog by translating the long term vision into its constituents parts over a 1-2 year horizon, understanding and managing dependencies. Additionally, prioritize the backlog based on product vision/strategy, scope, budget, time, using qualitative/quantitative data sources to inform decisions
  • Oversee product delivery by being accountable for each development stage and process (planning, delivery, QA, release), applying industry best practices
  • Acts as a primary liaison for all stakeholders, collaborating effectively with developers, senior management, other teams (sales, CS, marketing, DR). You reach out pro-actively to other teams, manage other team needs effectively and consistently, spot opportunities to improve collaboration with other teams, involve management at the right moment and can push back where needed. You communicates  effectively to specific audience by modifying content of communication to meet the needs/expectations

What you will bring

  • 4-7 years experience as Product Manager in a B2B environment (market place experience is a 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Problem solving and analytical skills – Break down large, complex issues into clear and workable steps. Be able to research and apply quantitative and qualitative insights
  • Stakeholder management skills – Love to say “yes”, but definitely know when to say “no”. You keep everyone in the loop and can create a shared understanding of what is asked.
  • Communication skills – be a solid communicator, ask the right questions, know when to listen, and can
  • transmit an idea to others
  • Time management and prioritization skills – can balance own and team’s time between discovery/delivery and urgent/important topics
  • Strong self-motivation and willingness to learn and become independent
  • Apply knowledge across various domains: showing proficiency in using analytical tools, demonstrating solid business acumen, having decent understanding of product development architecture, design, innovation and quality
